Do I need a very powerful computer or graphics card ?
LocalProse features a smart hardware detection system. On first launch, the software analyzes your machine's RAM. If you have a standard laptop (4 to 8 GB RAM), it will automatically activate the Ultra-Eco Mode. If you have a powerful machine (Mac M1-M5 or Gaming PC), it switches to "Ultra-Creative" mode. You get the best possible AI assistance without ever slowing down your computer.
Is the software 100% offline without any Internet connection ?
An Internet connection is required to create your account, manage your Pro subscription, and download the AI "brains" during updates. However, your creation is 100% offline. Everything you type or dictate, on PC or mobile, never leaves your devices. Mobile/PC synchronization is done locally (LAN) via your home Internet router, without ever passing through a Cloud server. Your words belong to you.
Can I test the AI before paying ?
Absolutely. We offer a 7-day trial period upon activating the Pro subscription. This gives you free access to all AI features (correction, rewriting, inspiration, universe management, analysis). It's the best way to verify that your computer is powerful enough to run local intelligence before investing.
Is there a 100% free version ?
Yes. If you decide not to keep the Pro subscription after the trial, LocalProse remains an excellent structured text editor with Focus mode, project management, and World-Building (character profiles, locations, relationship mapping), but without generative AI features.
Do my texts train the AI ?
No. That is the very reason LocalProse exists. Everything related to designing your projects happens locally on your device for total confidentiality. Technically, the security layer handling rights and subscriptions (user account) is independent of the editing and analysis functions that utilize your machine's capabilities locally. Nothing you write in LocalProse ever leaves your machine.
